“The idea of Silvercar was sparked by one too many frustrating experiences at the rental car counter. The founders were disgusted by the white minivan they had been “upgraded” to for their cool guys golf weekend. With the fundamental realization that car rental hadn’t innovated in decades, and still couldn’t tell them something as basic as what kind of car they were getting, the concept of Silvercar was born.”

“Silvercar solves the two problems that have plagued car rental customers for decades: Never knowing what kind of car you’re going to get, and the hassle of lines, counters, up-sells and paperwork. With Silvercar you always know what car you’re going to get – a fully loaded silver Audi A4 with in car Wi-Fi, satellite radio and in-dash navigation included. The entire experience is orchestrated through our mobile app with the help of our on-site concierge team.”

BusinessInterviews.com:  What has been your biggest challenge as a business owner and how have you met that challenge?

“One of the biggest challenges we’ve faced is changing customer perceptions about renting a car. For decades it has been a pride-swallowing siege to approach the rental counter, wait in lines, fight off the up-selling of insurance, GPS units and fuel plans, only to find there’s a tired, unappealing car waiting for you when you get out to the lot. Silvercar changes all that. It’s also the most gratifying part of the job to see the excitement, almost disbelief when our customers experience it for the first time.“
