BusinessInterviews.com:  What inspired you to launch your business?

Piyush Jain: I always wanted to be a technopreneur since my childhood, it was in my Heart.  I always was interested in combining technologies with entrepreneurship to change our lives.  I did Bachelor and PhD in Engineering, but education never provided me an opportunity to convert technical know how into business. That’s why, after completing my PhD, I decided to start working for a Startup company, so that I could learn technology and business development at the same time. I worked for 3 years with this company and it taught what I could not have learnt at any leading business school, the practical knowledge. After gaining enough experience in three years, I started my own company in 2009.

BusinessInterviews.com:  Do you have any recent success stories that you’d like to share with our readers?

Piyush Jain: We just developed a mobile application for our client. The application is for logistic and packaging industry. The application can measure the atmospheric conditions at the time of packaging, in transit and at the delivery to understand the factors that affects the shelf life of the products. We can reveal much detail right not due to confidentiality, but it will be a game changing mobile app in our lives.

BusinessInterviews.com:  What issue does your core product help solve and how so?

Piyush Jain:   We provide custom mobile app development and responsive web development for various clients in North America. In last 6-7 years, smartphones and tablets have changed the way we interact with digital world, bulky desktops are no more the device of choice. We have multiple devices with different screen sizes and resolutions. People interact with Mobile Apps or responsive website which can work from any device. Many startups, companies and government agencies do not have the skills to create mobile apps and responsive web products their self.  This is where we bring our expertise to help companies and visionaries to create these products in time and budget. We bring our 6 years of subject matter expertise to solve the technical challenges for our clients and design and develop the products that can vastly adopted by users.

BusinessInterviews.com:  What has been your biggest challenge as a business owner and how have you met that challenge?

Piyush Jain: My biggest challenge has been to find and build the right team. Finding right developers, designers and other staff is sometime more challenging than finding clients. When you are starting out, it is not easy to find and convince right people to work for you. Once they are in your team, I had to make sure that I retain them for long time. I followed the right process to spot candidates, screening them and educating them about the company culture so that we have a happy team. We all work as a family and team understand what our company wants to achieve. It keeps all of us happy and motivates to work smartly.

BusinessInterviews.com:  What’s the most exciting thing on the horizon for you/your Company?

Piyush Jain: We have started working for Government Agencies, we are based in DC, a hub for federal activities. We also have received 8(a) certification, which helps in winning government IT contracts.  We have skills and capabilities to deliver our IT services to Government and we are very excited about it.

BusinessInterviews.com:  Where do you envision your company in 5 years?

Piyush Jain: I envision to grow our company into a very focused and leading company with expertise in Mobile and Web Software Engineering. We want to focus more on the quality of clients and work we do rather than the size. We have grown organically in last 6 years and expert to use this as a foundation for our future growth.

BusinessInterviews.com:  Have you had any mentors or role models that have influenced you? Describe the impact.

Piyush Jain: I have been impressed and influenced by CEO and Founder of the company of my first job, I joined them right after my PhD. I worked closely with him and learnt several entrepreneurial lessons from him. He grew the company from zero to 100 million in 7 years and I learntthe art of entrepreneurship and guts of business from him.

BusinessInterviews.com:  Do you consider yourself successful and by what means do you measure success?

Piyush Jain: Yes, I have been successful so far in what I have done. However, I believe that I only have achieved the fraction of my potential; I still have a long way to go. I have built an IT and Software Service company, which has been profitable and earned praises from our clients for what we do. We have helped several Startups in fulfilling their dreams of launching the mobile or web products.

BusinessInterviews.com:  How do your competitors view you?

Piyush Jain: We are very competitive and experienced in what we do and our competitors are scared of it. As a USA based company, we not only compete with local companies, we give fierce competition to offshore companies as well.  We have been named as top mobile app and web development company in North East Region, which includes Washington DC and NYC.

BusinessInterviews.com:  What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs and business owners? What do you wish someone told you?

Piyush Jain: I would recommend to stay away from distractions and discouragement that might come in your way. Entrepreneurship is not easy, don’t be just flattered by the stories of other entrepreneurs, you must be ready to do sacrifices and work more and efficiently than others. Entrepreneurship resides in your heart, if you have it in you, then don’t be afraid to take chances or walk on the path.

BusinessInterviews.com:  What’s the biggest risk that you’ve ever taken and how did it turn out?

Piyush Jain: Biggest risk I took was after completing my PhD. All my friends joined big companies and were getting 6 figure salary. I did not want to work for a big company, I joined a Startup after my PhD and were getting basic salary which hardly met my bills. However, I was passionate about a job, which gave me opportunity to work on technology and entrepreneurship. I quickly picked up and in three years, I not only earned six figures, I learnt what I wanted to know. This led to me quitting my job and started my own company in 2009.
