Elite Lighting Designs specializes in the design/build of Residential and Commercial Outdoor Lighting Systems.

The owner Shawn George, has been designing and installing Outdoor Lighting for over 21 years. Elite Lighting is licensed and insured and their job foreman’s have been with them for over 10 years. The company is a member of the Greater San Antonio Home Builders Association, Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and Shawn is a member of the Entrepreneur Organization.

MO: Where does your passion for lighting and design come from?

Shawn: I have always enjoyed the out- doors and construction. When I drive around San Antonio and see the difference in the quality of our designs and lighting systems. Also the look of happiness and amazement when homeowners see their property beautifully illuminated.

MO: What are some ways that you bring families together with-in their outdoor home environment through lighting by creating safety, security, and beauty?

Shawn: When you entertain or have family functions / creating memories at your home and you cannot see or enjoy your pool , patio, or landscaping at night. Lighting creates the warmth and security that you can use the outdoor areas and enjoy each other.

MO: What advice would you give to a business contemplating expansion into other areas?

Shawn: Stick with your specialty. Know your market because each one is different.

MO: What inspired you to create a new showroom and what aspects have been the most challenging during the process?

Shawn: I wanted to have increased visibility / signage off the I-10 highway and for the future growth towards Boerne.

 

MO: Have you always had an entrepreneurial spirit?

Shawn: Yes when I was young I found myself working at an early age. Learning different skills always inspired me to keep growing. E.O. Has really helped me to evolve into the serial Entrepeneur who opens more than one business.

MO: What are some of the ways that that lighting industry has changed and evolved since you first got started over 20 years ago?

Shawn: Outdoor Lighting was not popular and was not a large industry when I first started. The evolution of more energy efficient lighting from incandescent to flourscent to LED is happening at speed of light. Wireless Lighting controls, Longer lasting , energy efficiency is the HOT revolution in lighting.
