Dr. John W. Cavanaugh, PhD is the President and CEO of CROSS CULTURAL COMMUNICATIONS, LLC and a local faculty member at the Columbus, Ohio campus of the University of Phoenix. He also manages the LinkedIn group page for the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD) http://ncdd.org/about .
Dr. Cavanaugh’s experience includes time as a Program Officer for the Charles F. Kettering Foundation where he functioned as liaison to National Issues Forums Institute (www.nifi.org) , a nationwide network of organizations committed to public policy deliberation. He previously served as a staff assistant in the Boston office of U.S. Senator John Kerry, as a budget analyst in the office of the Massachusetts state auditor, and as a research assistant professor in the Center for Citizenship at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
Dr. Cavanaugh has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Framingham State University, a master’s degree in Public Affairs from the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and a doctoral degree in Government and International Studies from the University of South Carolina.
He is author of MEDIA EFFECTS ON VOTERS and is published in numerous periodicals regarding issues including multicultural public relations, government and nonprofit relations, civic engagement, and community outreach.
