BusinessInterviews.com: What inspired you to launch your business?

Karl Jobst: After completing dental school, I had a specific vision for a patient-centered dental practice in which a combination of compassionate care and cutting-edge technology would ensure a comfortable experience for each and every patient. Although I knew it would be difficult to launch a dental practice so early in my career, it was important for me to provide patients with the exceptional level of care they truly deserve.

BusinessInterviews.com: What has been your biggest challenge as a business owner and how have you met that challenge?

Karl Jobst: I’ve been incredibly fortunate that my practice has always featured a wonderful team of professionals who are fully committed to upholding the values Grand Lake Dental was originally founded upon. There have been so many instances in which a challenge could have been so much greater if not for the support and assistance of the dental professionals here at Grand Lake Dental, so the greatest challenge I encountered during my lengthy career remains the actual process of founding the practice almost 20 years ago.

BusinessInterviews.com: Do you consider yourself successful and by what means do you measure success?

Karl Jobst: Yes, I do consider myself successful and am proud of the practice my team and I have worked so hard to establish at Grand Lake Dental. I tend to rely on the feedback provided by patients and team members to measure the success of my dental practice, and after so many years in Grove, it’s clear that this particular metric is indeed the most accurate method for measuring professional success.

BusinessInterviews.com: How do your competitors view you?

Karl Jobst: I’m not sure we even view each other as competitors in just about any sense of the word, particularly since my peers and I are so fully invested in providing our patients with the best possible dental care. I’ve always advocated for continuing education and professional development regardless of one’s years of practical experience, so my peers most likely view me as a source of ongoing professional support as well as a comprehensive informational resource that is always happy to be at their disposal.
