BusinessInterviews.com: What inspired you to launch your business?

Louis: I had always worked with adolescents and families and I knew that I had a certain affiliation around counseling, however I felt as though my skill set was limited and believed there was a much deeper/broader way to view the human condition and ultimately assists others. After, some consideration I decided to pursue graduate education with the aim of learning all I could to help quench my desire for understanding. Throughout the process the path that continued to illuminate for me was a depth-oriented psychotherapy practice.

I worked extremely hard to lay the foundation; including having as many as 5 jobs at one time to allow for the opportunity to grow my practice. Over the years, I was able to grow my practice to the point where it become sustaining, fulfilling, and rewarding in all levels. About three years ago, I was approached by a new clinician (Dana) who was interested in growing her practice. Together, we came up with a system that allowed her to grow into a practice in a way that offered much more ease and accessibility then I had to endure. Our practice has grown in the meantime and we’ve been able to offer this same privilege to other clinicians, increasing our overall scope of services, ability to continue to grow and develop as a practice, and allow for continued enriching clinical experiences

BusinessInterviews.com: Do you have any recent success stories that you’d like to share with our readers?

Louis: It is a true privilege to witness clients actually improve their life circumstances. Particularly clients who we’re previously in a despairing place. The most recent example is a situation in which the client’s spouse had recently moved out and their relationship was on the brink of collapse. Through much self-reflection, insight, and emotional work on both their parts they are now back together and report feeling more content, empowered, and intimate in ways they had not known previously.

BusinessInterviews.com: What issue does your core product help solve and how so?

Louis: Psychotherapy helps to change maladaptive patterns in peoples’ lives. The benefits can include: greater intimacy, more emotional responsibility, lessening traumatic experiences, removing oppressive experiences, healing family of origin difficulties, and moving past unhealthy entrenched patterns

BusinessInterviews.com: What’s the most exciting thing on the horizon for you/your Company?

Louis: As each respective clinician in our practice continues to grow and develop we’re able to offer more services for our clients. We’re looking at adding on a couple of groups this fall; specifically focusing on the GLBT population and a younger women’s group. This is a very exciting time for our practice!

BusinessInterviews.com: Have you had any mentors or role models that have influenced you? Describe the impact.

Louis: Absolutely! The training involved in learning to become a competent Psychotherapist is a long road and mentorship is an integral part of the process. I was extremely fortunate to have wonderful mentors, many different types of amazing clinical experiences, and training with some of the leading professionals in the area. I have been given something from each one of my mentors and each has helped shape my clinical approach, framework, and ability to be helpful and available to my clients.
