MO: What inspired you to launch your business?
Michael: Internet marketing has been a tough business. With the “invention” of e-commerce came with it the emerging need for knowledgeable web professionals. These specialists didn’t exist since it was a new industry (or they at least were in short supply) and the education system didn’t graduate professionals ready to be productive in the industry. The result was a lot of low-quality work by uneducated people who gave the industry a bad name. Finally, that can change. As the web has evolved and educated professionals have chosen it as a career path, we saw an opportunity to start fresh and bring motivated, skilled individuals to the internet marketing world and change the way the industry is viewed with great results and transparent services.
MO: Do you have any recent success stories that you’d like to share with our readers?
Michael: Zeke Little, owning and operating The Map Shop, as well an online store, didn’t know how to approach his SEM. He got e-mails every week from people around the world offering services to him, but had no idea how to evaluate them. He brought us in to explain the process, show him exactly what we did, and how we would present the results to him. The result? We increased ROI by over 250%, and online sales tripled in less than 6 months. When we have the opportunity to sit down with clients (or discuss with them online) and really show them what we do, we can really explain how we determine value and optimize campaigns, cutting through the clutter and providing real value.
MO: What issue does your core product help solve and how so?
Michael: Our company represents the next generation of online marketing professionals. We’re ready to rebuild the reputation of web professionals with transparent reporting, results-focused goals, and great communication.
MO: What’s the most exciting thing on the horizon for you/your Company?
Michael: We’re excited to grow. We just opened a new office in September 2012, completing renovating an old building with a modern look that matches our company colors and feel. And now we’re growing into it. Our new website launched December 1, 2012, and now our team is excited to discuss projects with new clients and really start growing our digital marketing agency.
MO: Where do you envision your company in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?
Michael: We hope to continue to grow and serve clients at a high level, both big and small. The reason we’re here is because we love what we do, so as long as we can help clients develop high-quality, profitable campaigns and enjoy doing it, we hope to keep doing as much of it as we can, for as long as we can.
MO: What’s the biggest risk that you’ve ever taken and how did it turn out?
Michael: Hiring career-oriented employees, especially the first few, can be a big risk for a small company looking to grow. But investing in great people and believing in their ability to help spur growth is something I insisted on, and something I will continue to do. Talented, motivated people are the heart of what makes our business, and our client’s businesses successful, and I think when you find someone like that you’ve got to give him or her the chance to succeed.
