First, please tell us why you became an insurance agent and what about your job do you enjoy the most?
Tom:
I wanted to find a job where I could combine my business background and customer service skills. The insurance industry is the perfect place to do so. I find not only the right product for my client, but reasonable pricing as well. What I enjoy most about my job is meeting new people everyday. Customer service is an extremely important part of business, especially in the world of insurance, and we at DL Agency pride ourselves in our superior customer service skills. It is important to me to make sure my clients are fully insured and understand their coverage. Insurance can be a tricky subject, and that’s where I come in to play. I do the work so you don’t have to. I sincerely enjoy helping people.

What one fact should every small business owner know when it comes to insurance?
Tom:
Small business owners should know that just as no two businesses are the exact same, no two insurance plans are the same. To get the proper coverage, a consultation is needed to find out more about the business and make sure you are properly covered. There are many insurance options available, and not all will be needed. By finding out more about the business, I will be able to evaluate the risks that need to be covered.

Can you tell us about some different types of coverage for small business owners?
Tom:
A few examples are: General Liability, Property Insurance, Errors and Omissions (also known as Professional Liability), and Workers Compensation. Our goal at DL Agency is to do a risk analysis to work with the business owner to properly insure the unique hazards of your business.

Can you share any stories about business owners you have helped in the past?
Tom:
Just recently I helped a client with her commercial insurance. After a brief consultation, I was able to learn about her business and the risks that may be included. The client owns and operates a maid-cleaning service in the St. Louis area. I issued a General Liability policy to minimize the risk of the business in case of property damage or injury. I was able to shop around the different insurance carriers to find the proper product and pricing for their needs while still making sure they were properly insured.

Tom:
