Having raised over $40 million in capital, Jason understands the challenges facing entrepreneurs and the steps they need to take to meet them.

Prior to Crowdfund Capital Advisors (CCA) Jason united the US medical societies resulting in the change of outdated regulations dramatically increasing patient safety while reducing time and costs for physicians and the pharmaceutical industry. When the credit crunch hit Jason saw the need for changes to outdated securities laws and did something about it. As a co-founder of Startup Exemption, he co-authored the crowdfunding framework used in the JOBS Act that was signed into law by President Obama on April 5, 2012.
Within CCA, Jason works with clients ranging from heads of state that are looking for ways to boost economic development in their countries to crowdfunding platforms looking to ensure they build sustainable businesses that benefit the market. He also produces comprehensive crowdfund investing educational materials so that companies can decide whether crowdfunding is appropriate for their business. Jason is currently writing the Crowdfunding for Dummies book through Wiley & Son’s.
Jason is very active in the crowdfunding industry; he is the co-founder of the CrowdFunding Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA) the self-regulating association for the crowdfunding industry currently working with the SEC and FINRA helping to establish and maintain crowdfunding rules and industry practices. Additionally, he is on the council of The Crowdfunding Accreditation for Platform Standards (CAPS), which promotes best practices for the operation of crowdfunding platforms globally.
An avid public speaker, Jason regularly speaks at universities and conferences around the world discussing crowdfund investing, what it takes to be an entrepreneur and how to build winning companies. He also presents to various government bodies, including speaking in front of the U.S. Congress, leading SEC and FINRA meetings, and speaking to governments abroad about how utilizing their Crowdfund Investment Framework results in greater economic prosperity for their countries. Jason has a passion for reviving old laws that have become hindrances to their people; as such he attends working groups at prestigious organizations such as the Brookings Institute as well as conducting work with foreign and domestic governments and associations.
Jason’s robust career highlights also include co-founding a documentary film company in Thailand, and working on a program with local entrepreneurs and educators to create a more entrepreneurial web development industry there. He has lived and worked in Europe and South America. When not on a plane, he currently resides in San Francisco.
Jason earned his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, the world’s top international MBA program and also holds a Bachelors degree from William Jewell College.
